Zhang's House- Yuyan Hall is the main building in Zhang,s House,large and bright with grand columns on big nanmu pier bases,a rare Ming style.A river flows under the hall,with a square pool built in the middle section to allow boats to turn round.Its rear hall has open windows and balconies facing the water with a backyard of various plants and flowers.

The Twin Bridge- The Twin Bridges, built between 1573 and 1619, is a must for tourists to Zhouzhuang. One bridge is built in the direction of north-south and the other east-west, one with a square opening and the other round opening. Thus they look like an ancient key, so also known as Key Bridge. Chen Yifei,a young artist residing in the U.S,created a picture of "Memories of Hometown" based on the Double Bridge in 1984. The painting, together with other 37 works, is exhibited and bought by Dr. Armond Hammer, an American oil tycoon, and later presented to Den Xiaoping. The painting symbolizes the friendship and peace between the two countries. In 1985, the painting was used on a first-day-cover issued by the UN, so more and more people come to know Zhouzhuang's beautiful scenery.
Zhouzhuang,originally built in 1086 A.D,belongs to Kunshan in Jiangsu Province, shinning like a pearl between Shanghai and Suzhou. It is a town crisscrossed by waters and lakes, thus boats are needed even for short-distance trips. With the residences built along the street by the meandering streams, it creates a typical image of "small bridges, flowing water and households" which is the typical style and features of the water town in the southern bank of the Yangtze River. It is famous both at home and abroad for its well-preserved buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Zhouzhuang has become an outstanding representative watertown in the Yangzte River area and a treasure of oriental culture for its long history, rich Wu culture, picturesque scenery as well as unique folk customs.
